This is our second time at CRHS, and we want to thank the Coon Rapids Fire Dept. Community Fund, Fire Ball Gala committee members and co-chairs Amanda Goar & Tiffany Fick for asking us to come to CRHS, honoring Patrick’s foundation at the 2024 Gala, and for donating $7,500 to Play for Patrick. Those funds paid for one of two SaveStation outdoor AED cabinets and Lifepak CR2 AEDs. The cabinets are weatherproof, and temperature controlled, allowing the AEDs to be ready for use year-round.

Thanks to CRFD Chief John Piper and his team of firefighters and EMTs for helping us set up, take down and running the CPR/AED station. We appreciate their passion, dedication, work ethic and service to the community.
Thanks to CRHS Assistant Principal Jeff Thompson, Hannah Mudick and staff for letting us use the fieldhouse. It’s a great venue and we are sure we will be back for a 3rd time.
An important part of our screening process is the Echocardiogram (Echo). We want to thank Philips Electronics and the local Philips rep. Jason Anderson for loaning us two additional echo machines, and for our volunteer echo technicians and students who help identify structural defects.
Betsy Wilson and Tien Truong once again recruited and coordinated the medical providers. Thanks to Tom Davis, Bart Laihinen, Mark Haugland, Dave Homans, Scott Sakaguchi, and Steve Heifetz for taking time out of their busy schedules to review the results and explain them to the kids and parents. We are grateful for all you do. Special thanks to Dave Homans for reviewing all results and identifying the 12 kids who will require follow-up care.
Last and certainly not least, to all our volunteers, THANK YOU! Set up, take down, recruiting, data entry, directing, hospitality, and testing, thank you for showing up and sharing your time to help us save lives. We cannot do this without you.
Our next heart screen is Saturday October 4th at Dover-Eyota High School, located 18 miles southeast of Rochester.
